Built on the runways of a former WWII Royal Air Force bomber base in Northamptonshire, England. Hosted the very first FIA Formula One World Championship race in 1950 and is the official home of British motorsport.

RAF Silverstone closed in 1946 and motor racing began on the perimeter roads and runways in 1947. The modern circuit was substantially redesigned in 2010, adding the 'Arena' section.
