Spa-Francorchamps
Set in the Ardennes forest of eastern Belgium, Spa is one of motorsport's spiritual homes. The current 7.004 km layout dates from 1979 but the circuit has hosted racing since 1921. It hosts the Belgian Grand Prix and the Total 24 Hours of Spa GT3 endurance classic.
Originally a 14 km road course connecting Francorchamps, Malmedy and Stavelot. Shortened and reshaped in 1979 after the original layout became too dangerous. The Eau Rouge / Raidillon complex has claimed lives but remains the most revered corner sequence in the world.
- 01Eau Rouge / Raidillon — flat-out climbing left-right-left
- 02100 m of elevation change across the lap
- 03Long, rolling sweepers like Pouhon and Blanchimont
- 04Notoriously unpredictable Ardennes weather — can rain on one side of the circuit and not the other
Corner braking points and gears are baseline references for a GT3 in dry conditions on optimum tyres. They will shift with car class, weather, fuel load, setup and driver technique. For car-specific deltas, use the AI Coach button on each corner.
Heavy braking from 6th. Late apex, ride the inside curb gently — too aggressive and the rear unloads. Get straight before applying full throttle for the run down to Eau Rouge.
